YouTube hires Derek Blasberg to lead its new Fashion and Beauty Partnerships Division
American journalist and New York Times best-selling author, Derek Blasberg, 36, has been hired to lead the new fashion and beauty partnerships division of YouTube.
This is understandably a brilliant move by Youtube after Instagram launched its IGTV a week ago, to secure its position as a top social platform and win over more high-profile celebrities and their fans.
Blasberg said in a statement, “I’m looking forward to bridging the world of YouTube creators with the global style and beauty industries in this newly created role and department.”
Derek is a former columnist and editor for Style.com, Harper’s Bazaar and other fashion and other lifestyle publications for over a decade. Before his new appointment, Blasberg was the host of CNN Style on CNN International, a position he held for two years. He will remain a contributing editor at Condé Nast’s Vanity Fair.
